PostSubject: che,a shirt and the so called rakista movement(oi reposted but still valid eh?)   Sun May 31, 2009 8:49 am

i saw this once on a che guevarra printed shirt in one of those so called underground stores that sell what the average rocker wannabe might need flaunting around just to announce that he is also one mean underground motherfocker. its very timing indeed that im writing this while im in the midst of forming(yet again) a new band and a new production outfit.but let me get to the shirt story first ok?(well right now im in the midst of a tour and currently setting up the cagayan valley arts and music collective!) so alot of things i had to say about people wearing this and that shirt just to validate their streed cred or their allegiance to these so called rakista movement, a whole lotta bullsheet created by the overlords of media hypeness called pulp magazine, myx,mtv and radio bullsheet stations just to have us lumped into one easily recognizable and therefore profitable movement of sorts, if you can call it that. main thing is you are cool, just wear this shirt. you are cool just listen to our bullcrap. you are cool just because we say you are.validation sometimes is a sad thing, just when you realized that you are individual you also realize that you created your whole persona with whatever things that you have seen or heard others do.putsa there is no more originality in a world like this.it makes me want to punch my so called frat brothers and be done with all this sheet.aaaaaahhh! know the man.che is and will be immortalized as the face of the revolution. he will be remembered for his abandonment of his burgis roots and bright future as a doctor to go where no man in his time has never done, to empower the latin and south american movements against an encroaching and largely imperialistic (ambitious) nation. he fought, healed, read, soaked the various cultures and died with his ideals. and now he will be best remembered only as that face in your shirt, a badge of sorts whenever you feel like being revolutionary and rock out with your so called rakista movements chanting along the same lines of your favorite bands or undergound heroes along with a hundred others wearing ramones, the clash, bob marley, sepultura, tool, jerks, wuds, yano, jdlc, sonic youth, bad brains, agnostic front, madball, the youth, social distortion, and a thousand other names associated with the movement.what irony of ironies therefore that those same heroes of yours are not given proper respect due(when they themselves have paid their due), by honoring and respecting what they fought for. whatever it is, fraternidad, egalidad, libertad.yeah im quoting the same theme of that french revolution cause its the same. these kids wearing these shirts will never understand why che guevarra is defiant in red, why marley despite reggaes peace loving music will always dream of redemption and emancipation in the ites, colors of rastafarianism.they will never fight the law as the clash said, being that they bought their shirts in the aircon comforts of malls numbed by am blvd version of the movement. how colorful it is to see the bright lights of times square and calculate the cost of making money out of the sweatshops of our own brethren in vietnam, china, and bataan.now this the kids will never know, they are feeding the frenzy of the same establishment they are fighting for.what does the billborad say come and play come and play forget about the movement. too much over a shirt right?but truth is truth and lies will be lies.i now vow never to bow down over this movements facade of revolt, this fake movement of sorts.i will never be like you, or the others before or after you.rage against that machine i say.solusyon ka ba o problema?

Wala naman daw dapat ganun pagdating sa musika. listen to who you want too just let the others listen to what they want..

ang problema nito is not the bands,ok naman sila.heres the scenario:

you were asked to coordinate a nationwide event by a corporate whore(literally).your main goal is to get at least 10 bands to audition and a place to play.the rules are, bands play their orig, now thats a given.two, the company will not pay anything from the bar, even the bar fee or guarantee.bars have to agree they want it cause what they are offering is the name of the competition itself and the fame and free promotion that comes with it.
so under these limitation you set out to get that bands, which you thought you did as these bands confirm their attendance daily.even going as far as bribing you to let them in.
you contact bars which at does not really like the idea of having their places used for free, big name event or not.i mean simple business, theres no fee lunch.so you look for options and miracles.which happened.
a local town famous for it being the farthest up north you can get before entering foreign jurisdiction, was having their festival.they are backed by a seemingly unlimited funds from lets just say a very influential man who has interests in the town.they are looking for bands in friendster(dont you just love social networking, the new frontier of the diy community).
you contact them and offer them to host the competition, they agree and well luckiest of luck and because hospitality is a trait that local folks in the province are in abundance, they offer the best package.free equipment on a festival stage, free accomodation for the organizers and bands, free transpo to and from for the organizers and bands, and free food for everyone.woohoooo!the event is pushing thru because of this great towns great people.its going to be the highlight of their festival.wow.
here comes the day and the laundry list:
1.organizers from manila arrived.they complained about how far it is.about how ass backward the town was despite it being considered to be the next subic or sorts.about how the roads are fucked up.these complaints in the form of a text to the local towns youth leader/evernt organizer.uhuh.bad vibes baby.
2.event time, wohoo!ms event organizer asked where is the merchandise?huh?i thought this will be coordinated by you.she said no guys, its your responsiblity to bring it here.go fetch some, wow naman domineering.so we got some, oks lang.
3.bands registration, hey bands punta na kau register.fuck of all fucks the guys wearing the bands shirts and carrying guitars are not coming up to sign.i asked why?sabi sa akin sir di pa kami kasali?
kaya pala todo gel sila manong at todo porma, poposing pala.
oks.
out of the supposedly 30 bands who txted me on unholy hours, asked questions at every turn and even asked for txt mates only six bands got the nerve to get in.hay.now this is really going somewhere.
eh yung pagod namin?
senxa na po,akala namin sign up sila e.fuck i coulve slap the bitch right then and there.and i couldve kick these posers faces had i not been with my daughter at the time.shit.
4.so 6 bands perform that night.imagine the insults that flew out the bitch mouth.
mahina pala kau uminom e(on the mic, broadcasted live on pa in front of the locals)
had she known that beer is softdrinks here and gin is king ewan ko kung may nasabi pa sya, considering that the guys he is saying it to are already drunk the whole day.
5.food.man what about it you say?these crazyfucks from manila ate it all.puking inang kapalan yan oh.the food that should have been aloocated for the bands were taken by some organizer who taught he has some balls by walking by us and well you know strutting like robin.kupal.had it been my town and had i known the locals are agit as well i couldve given him a bootdown.sick.kawawa naman yung mga banda na di nakakain.considering that these organizers were also given food at their quraters.naman.

so there goes the story of one night in the nations biggest battle of the bands.organizers insult and generally crap at you while they eat your food and sleep in your best beds.these while also telling you how ass backwards your town is.lakas.
the bands, well i think some stood out.i think they could even kickass many a band here in manila, given the proper directions of course.
good thing as all probinsyanos are, they kept the moral high ground and still held their heads high up.kahit ganun kami di naman kami buraot would be fitting to say.
where was i in all of this?i was the one who brought out the idea, cajoled the bands, given them food money out of an already poor pocket and well generally hiyang hiya sa ginawa at inasta ng organizer.i said sorry afterwards to them which they said ok lang,di naman ikaw yung kupal e.

now how low can a corporate whore get?

well in all fairness may pagkakahawig si Zach Dela Rocha kay Che... mga 60% siguro... Okay yung mga idea nya talaga... kaya lang may mga tao na dehins bilib sa kanya kasi pumatay nga din sya ng mga tao, nag execute din sya ng mga preso and all but still he will be remembered as a great man.

5.food.man what about it you say?these crazyfucks from manila ate it all.puking inang kapalan yan oh.the food that should have been aloocated for the bands were taken by some organizer who taught he has some balls by walking by us and well you know strutting like robin.kupal.had it been my town and had i known the locals are agit as well i couldve given him a bootdown.sick.kawawa naman yung mga banda na di nakakain.considering that these organizers were also given food at their quraters.naman.

so there goes the story of one night in the nations biggest battle of the bands.organizers insult and generally crap at you while they eat your food and sleep in your best beds.these while also telling you how ass backwards your town is.lakas.
the bands, well i think some stood out.i think they could even kickass many a band here in manila, given the proper directions of course.
good thing as all probinsyanos are, they kept the moral high ground and still held their heads high up.kahit ganun kami di naman kami buraot would be fitting to say.
where was i in all of this?i was the one who brought out the idea, cajoled the bands, given them food money out of an already poor pocket and well generally hiyang hiya sa ginawa at inasta ng organizer.i said sorry afterwards to them which they said ok lang,di naman ikaw yung kupal e.

now how low can a corporate whore get?

ang problema nito is not the bands,ok naman sila.heres the scenario:

you were asked to coordinate a nationwide event by a corporate whore(literally).your main goal is to get at least 10 bands to audition and a place to play.the rules are, bands play their orig, now thats a given.two, the company will not pay anything from the bar, even the bar fee or guarantee.bars have to agree they want it cause what they are offering is the name of the competition itself and the fame and free promotion that comes with it.
so under these limitation you set out to get that bands, which you thought you did as these bands confirm their attendance daily.even going as far as bribing you to let them in.
you contact bars which at does not really like the idea of having their places used for free, big name event or not.i mean simple business, theres no fee lunch.so you look for options and miracles.which happened.
a local town famous for it being the farthest up north you can get before entering foreign jurisdiction, was having their festival.they are backed by a seemingly unlimited funds from lets just say a very influential man who has interests in the town.they are looking for bands in friendster(dont you just love social networking, the new frontier of the diy community).
you contact them and offer them to host the competition, they agree and well luckiest of luck and because hospitality is a trait that local folks in the province are in abundance, they offer the best package.free equipment on a festival stage, free accomodation for the organizers and bands, free transpo to and from for the organizers and bands, and free food for everyone.woohoooo!the event is pushing thru because of this great towns great people.its going to be the highlight of their festival.wow.
here comes the day and the laundry list:
4.so 6 bands perform that night.imagine the insults that flew out the bitch mouth.
mahina pala kau uminom e(on the mic, broadcasted live on pa in front of the locals)

see?!

Haha.

Vocalists daw si Che ng Rage Against The Machine. E hindi pa ako ganun ka-"aware" sa rock/punk culture nun, so I was like... Ahhh, sya pala yun.

Parehas din neto yung Swastika, Circled "A" at Punks Not Dead shirt.

calling all collectives!

im looking for collectives who wants to participate in the 2nd indiependents day to be held in up diliman.it would be sort of a up fair type of thing pero mas maganda kasi di tau mag papa tugtog ng mainstreaM.
bale lahat ng ug,independent, diy undertaking.all genres, metal, ska, punk, hardcore etc.all collectives from the different provinces like davao, tarlac, laguna, cavite, malabon, malolos etc are encouraged to join, coordinate, send bands, send diy makers.hmmm ano pa ba?

eto plano ko e.diliman collective will secure the venue and all necessary permits in up diliman.we already have an org in dzup ang uporg as collaborators as well.isasabay to sa activities ng up org,mga zipline etc etc.
we will accept collectives who want to:

1.put up a stage to play in.meaning stage nyo, lineup nyo, gimik nyo.of course since venue at security yung amin, yung stage equipment ay gastos ng collective nyo.you may get your own sponsors and do ticketing and all proceed will be yours.pwede din makipag collaborate with other collectives and scenes.

2.exhibit their diy stuff.mga luthiers, shirtnmakers, pedalmakers etc etc.well basically exhibit and sell your stuff, whatever it is.

im thinking 24 hour activity sya e.im also thinking 4 stages sana para ma accomodate line ups ng lahat.its ambitious but so was last year but we did it.hopefully may papayag sa inyo.anyone interested pls call or txt me.4 mos yung prep natin.we will try to get media exposure.pakita natin malakas yung ug scene.that we can come up with an event without bullshit.sa mga lcal organizers dyan pls help me.maraming salamat.heres my digits 09278753813.salamas!
