Protestant - "The Hate. The Hollow" [Halo Of Flies]
Shit! i am so lost for words on this cd i'll just let this detailed review talk (from therockblogger.com):
"The Hate The Hollow is a killer crust punk/hardcore album from a little known Milwaukee band. Protestant takes the grit and grime of early crust bands like Amebix and infuses it with the technicality and raw power of modern hardcore. The result is an intense storm of grinding riffs, raging vocals and suffocating bass lines.

If Converge had pared back their more melodic moments and focused more on a DIY aesthetic, they might have sounded something like Protestant. Its not all blood and dirt here though. There are some slower tracks like “Obituary” that centers on slithering math-rock riffs before the chugging maelstrom kicks in. Moments like these add balance to the fist-clenching madness of the affair and gives Protestant some ample room to push their sound further.

Like most hardcore albums, The Hate The Hollow passes by like a flash flood, leaving you feeling abraded and disoriented in a very short period of time. It delivers intensity in spades while still balancing things out with its sophisticated compositions and doom-inspired atmosphere. For its crushing density and piercing emotions, The Hate The Hollow is one of the top hardcore albums to sneak under the radar. Keep your eyes open for these guys." 300php

Malachi "s/t" [Halo Of Flies]
This is it guys, the must have record of 2008! Malachi is an atmospheric doom metal/crust unit from Milwaukee , Wisconsin fronted by none other than Robert Collins of CFD, Artimus Pyle, WHN?, etc. and a feral cellist who'll give all metal and punk frontwomen a run for their money.
This is over an hour's worth of punishment that chronologically compiles both their lps. THIS is the somber and Smashing soundtrack in these darkest days. Don't sleep! 300php

Conquest For Death – “Beyond Armageddon” [multi-label release]
A special cd made and released to coincide with this international thrash-punk heroes’ “Australasian tour” of 2008. This compiles both their “Front Row Tickets to Armageddon” and “Beyond the Hidden Valley” full lengths plus a Plasmatics cover sold for cheap during their shows. Salamat kaibigan! 250php

F.P.O. – “2003 – 2007 Discography” [multi-label release]
Here we have everything this Macedonian straight edge unit recorded from 2003 up to 2007. 40 blistering tracks of hardcore punk/thrash this eastern European band is known for. The 10+ label release only proves their dedication to the international hc-punk community. People said there is also an enhanced video on this release that I’ve yet to see. You tell me. Forever x Positively x Obsessed!!! 250php

Gritos De Rabia “s/t”” [Akracia]
15 tracks of no frills, street-styled mexican punk hardcore housed in a gorgeous cardstock slipcase which also contains the lyric booklet. 150php

Kah-Roe-Shi “s/t ” [13 Multi-label release]
Kah=excess Roe=labor Shi=death. the name is translated literally from japanese as "death from overwork" or "occupational sudden death." 7 tracks plus 13 minutes live video of heavy, doom-laden hardcore punk akin to His Hero Is Gone, Counterblast, Dystopia and the likes. The cd comes in a 20 page booklet of lyrics coupled with intelligent, challenging explanations and articles from the futility of race to the suppression of free speech. All housed in a handsome screen printed cloth with a black fabric pin for the mourning of everything that once was. 250php

War All The Time “South East Asian tour 2007” [Life on the Edge]
This tour cd compiles EVERYTHING this UK veteran band had done to date: the splits with The Horror, Whole in the Head, their ep on Yellow Dog records and a couple of unreleased tracks. 17 punishing Jap/Scandi influenced hardcore punk played by pioneers who have done time in Boxed In, Kito, Suffer, Doom, and Embittered to name a few. Protestant " As Dead as We Look" [Halo of Flies]
A bone crushing onslaught of raging thrash meets moody crust marks this re-mixed and remastered collection of early works from Milwaukee’s PROTESTANT. Include are their songs form their LP, their split 7" with RHINO CHARGE and their 2005 demo CD-R. While PROTESTANT plays what is easily categorized as what is now being called "Neo Crust," their style is much less formulaic and reminds one of the mid 90’s pioneering days, when 2nd generation European crust bands like AMBUSH, ABC DIABOLO and HIATUS were first pushing the style forward. Another fine example of the renewed vigor that has energized the eastern Wisconsin scene during the last couple of years, after being declared officially dead in the late 90’s and early part of this decade. 300php

Latest release from the D-beat raw force from Germany. 12 never before released tracks with 4 taken from their recording back in February of 2006, 3 from a supposedly project band with their then-bassist Kelly of Detestation/SHOS-fame, and 4 covers from Subhumans, Chaos U.K., Mob 47, Rudimentary and of course, Discharge recorded in October of 2006. 250php

Cluster Bomb Unit " SEA Tour 2005" [DNC]
An early discography cd containing mostly out of print materials such as the split flexi with Resist (1993), Cluster Bomb Unit 7” EP (1994), split 7” with Disclose (1994), Opfer 7” EP (1997). All compiled for their South East Asian tour of 2005. This by the way is the repackaged version of the “You Can Not Kill A Master At Night” discography cd. One word to describe this release: essential! 250php

Originally to be released on Slap A Ham, this is now being put out by Deep Six and 625. This is by far the best shit they have ever done. Super fast powerviolence with thick guitar sounds, crazed vocals and a drummer than has obviously been listening to his death metal. Raw, DIY recording is reminiscent of the early ’90s fastcore bands’ production. Description by Max 625. 400php

Valse Triste " Kompilatio" CD [Six Weeks]
Veteran Finland hardcore punks finally release some semi-discography material!! This disc contains tracks from the bands first 4 EP’s on the Trashcan label from Finland circa 89-91. Classic Finnish hardcore sounds of the 80’s are quite apparent but this band has an odd punk as fuck style all their own. 375php

Raw Power " Still Screaming After 20 Years" CD [Six Weeks]
RAW POWER has defined hardcore punk not only in their homeland of Italy, but all over the world for over 20 years. This new LP features this legendary group in top form, retaining all the energy, anger and passion that has driven their existence since the beginning. This is true hardcore through and through...bulldozer guitar attack with the trademark screaming vocals that made Italian punk history what it is today. Sadly, shortly after this new recording, the band lost their founder and leader Giuseppe Codeluppi to heart disease. 15 new songs, the songs from the "Born to be Fucked" EP, the songs from the split EP w/ULCERRHOEA, the songs from the split CD w/DROGHEDA and a song previously released on a comp tape, for a total of 35 grind bombs. The rapid guitars, exploding drums, guttural growling and tormented screams are all doing their part to make this as brutal as it is. But unlike many bands in the genre, Dysmorfic doesn’t sing about cutting up bodies and such. Their lyrics are socio-personal and political. This is some in your face ripping hardcore punk. 17 songs all fast and no sign of slowing down. On top of that they bring you great well written lyrics. If you liked bands like WHAT HAPPPENS NEXT? Then check this out. If you like good hardcore then you will like this record. This CD is also an import from a South African record label and was release in lieu with the bands recent tour of Africa and Oceania. 300php (Note: the cd does not have an inlay card.
