Choke Cocoi/Urbanos CD
I was really excited to get this for review because I had heard great things about CHOKE COCOI and I certainly wasn’t disappointed. First there’s URBANOS from Buenos Aires who play a kind of hybrid of melodic and heavy hardcore with some parts musically reminding me of AGNOSTIC FRONT, only with raspy female vocals. I had never heard of them o it was a good introduction. CHOKE COCOI is an all female HC band from the Philippines, who are just fucking awesome! Brutal, aggressive, vicious vocal thrash HC which reminds me a lot of the harshest ANTISCHISM. The lyrics are incisive and have a great analysis of racism, sexism, militarism, etc. Floored!
